Sensory Bags

What is a sensory bag?
A bag created for individuals with sensory sensitivities and or individuals with invisible disabilities to help lessen or engage with sensory overload during an event. Events include graduations, sports games, workshops, concerts, etc.

The bags we provide will be available during the Texas A&M University graduations held at Reed Arena on the College Station Campus and at future events at Reed Arena.

What items are in the sensory bag?
  • Weighted lap pads.
  • Sound reducing headphones.
  • Fidgets (different shapes and sizes).
  • Sensory Aware Cards.
Who can use the sensory bags?
Although the bags are created for individuals with sensory sensitivities and or individuals with invisible disabilities, anyone who needs them can use the bags including both adults and children.
Where can I get the bags at Reed Arena?
Visit the Guest Services area at Reed Arena, where sensory bags are available for free rental.
Here you will also find more information about the check-in and check-out procedures of the bags.
Why is this significant?
To promote a more accessible, inclusive, and positive experience at the Texas A&M University graduations for students, their families and guests, and individuals with sensory needs. This is a collaborative effort between St. Joseph Health Therapy and the Center for Disability and Development at Texas A&M University. We want everyone to enjoy the graduation ceremonies and future events at Reed Arena. Spread the word and check out a bag!
