About the Experience

A real-life-hands-on cinematic experience like no other! At this camp, the campers are the director, editor, producer, scriptwriter, music composer – even graphics designer. Whatever interests them – they can be any member of the crew they’d like.

It’s all about the camper and their crew and producing their own movie – their way.

Linda Litowski has been a filmmaker in Austin for over 40 years. Grace Hubbell, Director of iYouth Media has worked with youth for 6 years and freelances as a cinematographer and editor. They are excited to produce a unique camp where campers will be mentored by industry film experts to learn to operate high-end professional equipment – taking their story from script to screen and everything in between.

The camp starts Monday, July 23 and ends Friday, August 3. The hours are 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, daily, Monday through Friday. Campers get to premiere their cinematic masterpiece for family and friends on Saturday, August 4th. (Along with some Behind-the-Scenes footage never seen before!)

Week 1: Learn all about filmmaking, from actual scriptwriters, cinematographers, editors, computer geeks, and music composers. The FBC is all about the camper’s hands-on experience, the camper’s interests in moviemaking and their part in the crew’s production. (Did we mention lunch and snacks are provided daily?!)

Week 2: Produce their film on location, from the production office at the UT Kerbey Lane Café on Guadalupe. The Camper and their crew set up shop with all the professional equipment they will need to plan, shoot and edit their movie. All campers will get a daily allowance to buy food on location!
