The Center on Disability and Development (CDD) Welcomes Dr. Carly Gibson as a New Affiliated Faculty Member

Dr. Carly B. Gilson is an affiliated faculty member with the CDD and assistant professor of special education in the Department of Educational Psychology. She received her Ph.D. in special education from Vanderbilt University and served as a UCEDD trainee and a research assistant with the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center. Her research interests include strengthening employment-related social skills for adolescents and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD); supporting individuals and families through school-to-work transition; and vocational skills and early career development supports through assistive technology. 

Dr. Gilson is thrilled to be a new faculty member with Texas A&M University because of the department’s innovative scholarship and commitment to service. She is especially excited to join the CDD team’s mission in supporting self-determination and community integration to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families.
