The CEHD Faculty Advisory Council (FAC) has completed its search process for the Director of Faculty Development, and Dr. Dalun Zhang has accepted the position beginning September 1, 2019. (Dr. Zhang formerly served as chair of FAC, and so recused himself from the review process.)

Dr. Zhang is Professor of Special Education and Director of the Center on Disability and Development at Texas A&M University. His research interest is centered on assisting youth with disabilities to make a successful transition from high school to adulthood. Over the course of his career, he has secured over $20 million in external funding for research, teaching, and demonstration projects. He has published over 80 research papers in peer-reviewed refereed journals, several book chapters, and many reports. Dr. Zhang has delivered over 100 research and keynote presentations at international/national levels. Dr. Zhang has provided service to the department as chair of the special education program, search committees, and post-tenure review committee and to the college as chair of tenure and promotion committee and faculty advisor committee. At the national level, he served as Chair, Vice President, President-elect, and President for different professional organizations, including the Division on Career Development and Transition of the CEC and the Council on Research and Evaluation of the AUCD (Association of University Centers on Disabilities). In addition, Dr. Zhang has served on the editorial boards of several journals.
