Disability Training Network to Hold Summer Institute July 30-31 in Corpus Christi; Online Registration Now Open

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – The Disability Training Network (DTN), spearheaded by research and evaluation coordinator for the Center on Disability and Development Dr. Dalun "Dan" Zhang, will hold its 2007 Summer Institute, "We're All in the Same Boat," Monday and Tuesday, July 30 and 31 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The Summer Institute is a professional development opportunity for Texas A&M University System disability service providers, staff, faculty and administrators. Each institution’s disability services director/coordinator will be able to attend as well as other staff members, faculty and administrators from that institution, up to the limit specified in the intra-system agreements. This year's topics will include accessibility, accommodations, assistive technology, best practices educating postsecondary students with disabilities, faculty-disability services office collaboration, the millennium student and psychological disorders.

DTN is a project funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education. It is designed to provide disability training and technical assistance to the faculty, administrators, and staff within TAMU institutions in order to improve the access, retention, and success rates of college students with disabilities.

Online registration is available at http://dtn.tamu.edu/SummerInstitute2007Registrationnewnew.htm
