Family Support Network and Down Syndrome Support Group Announce Summer Events for Kids with Disabilities

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – The Family Support Network and Down Syndrome Support Group will co-host four summer events for local children with disabilities and their families. RSVPs should be made in a timely manner to Christy Knight of the DSSG at 979-778-7010.

Children's Museum: Friday, May 18
Join us at the Children's Museum (111 East 27th St. in Bryan) from 6 – 8:30 p.m. This is not a drop off event. Parents/guardian must stay with their children. We will have a BBQ dinner and full access to the museum. Please RSVP to this event so we can make sure we have enough food. If you have any questions, contact Christy Knight at 979-778-7010.

Swimming Party: Saturday, June 9
Join us at Henderson Harbor (1629 Mockingbird Lane in Bryan) starting at 1 p.m. This is not a drop off event. Parents/guardians must stay with their children. Pool is open to public. We will provide snacks and drinks. This is a free event for all. Please RSVP to Christy Knight at 979-778-7010.

Blue Bell Creamery Tour and Aquatic Center Field Trip: Monday, July 9
We'll be leaving via Texas A&M bus for Brenham, Texas. Meeting at Post Oak Mall at 9 a.m. and returning at 3 p.m. We will be touring the Blue Bell Creamery at 10:15 a.m., eating lunch at 11 a.m. and going to the Blue Bell Aquatic Center from 12– 2 p.m. This is a free event and limited to the first 22 children for Blue Bell tour. If you plan on attending, please fill out a permission form and return to Down Syndrome Support Group of B-CS (2208 Yellowstone Bryan TX 77803). We are looking for chaperones. Bombers Baseball Game: Friday, July 20
Cheer on the Brazos Valley Bombers at Travis Field(off Carson Drive in Bryan). Game starts at 7:05 p.m. and the Brazos Valley Bombers will play the Mineral Wells Steam. This is a family event, so a parent/guardian must attend. Admission is free for a child with special needs, his or her siblings and one parent/guardian. If others attend, the cost is $5.50 a ticket, and you must pay for additional adults when you RSVP, due by May 10. Please RSVP to Christy Knight at 979-778-7010.

Back-To-School Bash: Friday, August 17
Join us for dancing, eating and hanging out at Tabor Arena Hall, at the intersection of Tabor Road and North Earl Rudder Freeway from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
