Darius Young was the guest speaker at the Cedar Hills ISD – Pathway to Independence event on January 9, 2018. Darius is a graduate from Cedar Hills and from the PATHS Program at Texas A&M University.

The Pathway to Independence event is to help families understand what services and pathways are available to students with disabilities. This event helps families to start planning earlier and prepare for life after graduation. Darius’ life journey from birth to where he is now was shared with the audience by his mother. Darius shared what life looked like for him when he attended Texas A&M Paths Program and also shared his accomplishments. The audience which consisted of parents, students and special education staff thoroughly enjoyed listening to Darius and his parents’ share their life experiences. With Darius sharing his life story, it gives families/parents hope for their child’s future.
